Course Description
A nonprofit organization's financial health is critical to its growth and viability. This workshop will cover: 1.) Basic bookkeeping; 2.) Calculating cash-flow coverage 3.) Examining cash inflow and outflow to determine your organization's financial stability; 4.) Budgeting; 5.) How to raise capital through fundraising, short-term, and long-term financing; and, 6.) How to avoid common mistakes in grant solicitations.

Instructor's Bio:
Yong M Wong is an Assistant Vice President and Banking Center Manager for Comerica Bank. He is responsible for community outreach and corporate contributions for Southern California.

In this role, he coordinates the bank's community reinvestment activities and helps facilitate local efforts to lend and invest in Southern California communities. In addition, he serves as a member of the Western Market's Diversity Roundtable.

Yong has been in banking for the past 9 years. Prior to this position, Yong was branch manager of US Bank Glendale and Citibank, Montebello. Also was employed at Washington Mutual and Bank of America.

Yong holds a Bachelor degree from the School of Business and Economics at University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1998.

He serves on the board of directors for the Pasadena Development Corporation. A nonprofit organization that serves the financial needs of local small businesses.
Yong is very experienced in personal, small business and non-profit banking and credit analysis.

A native of Boston, he currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
