Course Description:
Leading organizations and programs presents challenges for leaders. This participative workshop will provide tools to develop your staff and help them to be more effective. Some of the strategies discussed are: how to develop and maintain motivating relationships, inspire commitment, deal with emotions, and align individual needs to organizational goals. Participants will have the opportunity to practice committed listening, observing behaviors, providing feedback, and creating coaching plans. By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- plan conversations with staff to develop trust through understanding their needs and aligning them to the organization's objectives
- provide feedback effectively using a behavioral approach
- listen and show understanding through paraphrasing, summarizing, and reflecting emotions
- create a coaching plan for a staff member.
Instructor's Bio:
Damian Goldvarg, Ph.D., is an Organizational Development Consultant, originally from
Argentina
, with fifteen years of experience in developing, implementing and evaluating skills building programs. He has expertise on issues of cultural competence, leadership training, strategic planning and in developing minority executives. He has experience working in non-profit, business and government sectors. Dr. Goldvarg received his Masters in Counseling from California State University Northridge and his Master and Doctorate in Organizational Psychology from
Alliant
University
. He has been Certified as a Professional Coach by the International Coaching Federation.
