Course Description:
A well developed and managed volunteer program can be a tremendous asset to any nonprofit organization. This introductory seminar provides an overview of all aspects of volunteer management. Topics include program design, preparation of volunteer job descriptions, interviewing, recruitment and orientation techniques, supervision and motivation of volunteers, and volunteer/staff relations. Designed for volunteer managers with less than one year of experience.

Instructor's bio:
Marilyn Kronmal, Ed.D., has been actively involved in nonprofit organizations for the last thirty years.  Her career has been in the field of education and community involvement and linked to nonprofit management, professional training, volunteerism, and fund development.  As a former executive director in a large international youth organization, Dr. Kronmal has lead both youth and adult volunteers in achieving leadership and community service goals.  She also has a speciality in working with seniors.  She holds a doctorate in Nonprofit Management and is certified as an educator, administrator, and gerontologist.
