Course Description:
Being a supervisor presents challenges as well as opportunities for growth. This seminar is designed for new supervisors and those who have had no formal training in their role. Topics include: managing other people's performance, communicating effectively with your staff, building teamwork and cooperation, and creating work environments that motivate people to achieve organization goals and objectives. Learn how to transition from being "one of the team members" to the person in charge.
Instructor's Bio:
Mike Hoff is an independent consultant who has a wealth of experience in the nonprofit sector. Mike is the former Director of Consulting Services at the Center for Nonprofit Management. He is also a former nonprofit executive director, university faculty member and corporate organizational development manager. His consulting expertise includes organization, board, and staff development, strategic planning, change management, team development, and performance assessment.
