Instructor's Bio:
David Mirisch has lectured at numerous fundraising workshops, expos and non profit meetings to show organizations an alternative to their typical charity events. He explains to them how he can save them money on their logistics while making them money through exposure, increased ticket sales and auction items. He also helps them see the power and excitement that celebrities can bring to a fundraising event.
David has had the pleasure of speaking to college communications and Public Relations classes around Southern California. With his background of 30 years as a publicist in the entertainment industry and an event coordinator, he has much to offer in respect to being a small business owner thriving in a large industry and what it takes to accomplish what he has in his lifetime.
David's forte is in consulting. He consults on every type of event imaginable whether it be large or small. Because his slogan is "Having FUN while rasing FUND$", he enjoys helping to produce golf tournaments and galas, award shows, casino parties, dance competitions, auctions and more! His services can be accomplished by phone, email or better yet...in person! He most recently consulted the following events from San Diego, California: a private school in upstate New York, a golf tournament in Chicago and a gala dinner/auction honoring Dr Jane Goodall held in Santa Monica for In Defense of Animals. In person meetings are set for events when requested.
David is a member of the famous Mirisch Film Company that has produced 52 feature films, won a total of 24 Academy Awards and 3 Best Picture Awards. Some of the films his family has produced are: Hawaii, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, The Great Escape, The Pink Panther, Some Like It Hot, In the Heat of The Night, and The Magnificent Seven. Their films and the people associated with their films have been nominated for a total of 58 Academy Award nominations.
His family background really was what gave him the leading edge in creating David Mirisch Enterprises. He began as a Hollywood press agent, where he handled the publicity of such stars as Merv Griffin, Omar Sharif, The Supremes, Johnny Mathis, Raquel Welch, Perry Como, Lindsay Wagner and Farrah Fawcett. Years later he began to develope the concepts behind DME. Now, he is recognized as, "The Man With The Golden Rolodex" and the "Saving Funds While Making Funds-Man".
His wife, Sandy Mirisch (a former talent agent for child stars such as Jodi Foster and 5 of the 6 Brady Bunch kids) and their two golden retrievers live in Encinitas, CA. on the bluff of the beach. Currently, the two are enjoying their newest grand daughter and the waves in San Diego!
