Course Description:
This seminar will provide human resources staff and managers with practical techniques and tools to conduct effective and compliance-driven interviews. Attendees will learn: How to design interview questions to hire the best qualified candidate; How to interview a candidate without a face-to-face interview; The right and wrongs of an effective interview; Effective Components of an effective interview; Compliance issues for conducting interviews. Attend this seminar and learn how to hire the best qualified candidate.

Instructor's Bio:
Joyce Murdock is a respected human resources professional with substantial experience in all areas of human resources management. She has worked as a human resources specialist within Fortune 500 companies as well as mid-sized organizations.

Most recently, Joyce held the position of Vice President, Human Resources for Vans Shoe Company. She managed the responsibilities of this position, while also providing counsel and guidance to executives and senior managers throughout this multinational enterprise. 

Prior to joining Vans Shoe Company, she worked with Avery Dennison, where her focus was primarily on training and development, executive coaching, leadership development, and performance management. Based at the corporate offices in Pasadena , Joyce worked directly with the senior management team.

Joyce served as Human Resources Manager for Mattel Toy Company, at its Corporate Offices in El Segundo , California .  As Human Resources Manager she provided recruitment, compensation, training and employee relations services to employees and managers. Her responsibilities included working with the president to develop and implement a new performance management program. Additionally, she designed and conducted front line supervisory training for managers.

Other positions she has held during her diverse career include the recruitment of disabled individuals for National Medical Enterprises.  While At National Medical, Joyce managed all areas of the human resources function.  She also worked for  First Interstate Bank of California , where her responsibilities included the College Relations Recruitment program. While at First Interstate Bank, she led a management steering committee in the development of a diversity training program, which was used throughout the corporation.She began her human resources career at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. 

Joyce holds a Master of Arts degree in Organization Management from Antioch University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lake Erie College.She is a member of the American Society of Training and Development, Society of Human Resources Management,Los Angeles Compensation and Benefits Association, Professional Coaches and Mentors Association and a member of The Professionals in Human Resources Association.
