Course Description The nation’s worst economic crisis in nearly seven decades has forced nonprofits to adapt to a new reality and change the way they operate. What can your organization do to weather this crisis?
At this event you will learn about legal options for turning the tide from experienced attorneys who will answer your questions about - * Rightsizing the right way: reduction of salaries/benefits, furloughs, lay-offs;
- * Restructuring Alternatives: Mergers, back-office consolidation, fiscal sponsorships, bankruptcy reorganizations, closing with honor; and
- * How to approach lease, loan and other contractual modifications
Instructor's Bio Attorneys from Public Counsel experienced in representing nonprofits, along with other attorneys experienced in employment and real estate law will present and be available for questions. Public Counsel helps to develop the capacity of underserved and low-income communities in Los Angeles County by providing free transactional legal services for qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
