Making an Impact In South Los Angeles since 1942

When it comes to “making an impact” there are few Southern California nonprofits that can contend with All Peoples Christian Center.  All Peoples has been an invaluable resource in South Los Angeles – providing programs and social services to people of all faiths, races and ages – for more than 65 years.

“The demographics of our community's population have shifted many times over during All Peoples' near six decades of service,” Saundra Bryant, Executive Director of All Peoples said.  “One of the reasons we continue to deliver effective services after all these years is our commitment to understanding the changing needs of the people we serve.”

Since its founding in 1942, All Peoples has consistently worked to break down racial and economic barriers for the people of its community.  It was one of the first inner-city community centers in Los Angeles to challenge societal norms of segregation by developing an integrated membership.  It has accepted, supported and served Asians, African Americans, Whites and Latinos throughout its history, providing chances for all to grow and succeed, no matter their status or stage in life.

While proud of its history, All Peoples has never rested on its laurels.  Today, All Peoples offers real solutions and resources for the people of its community.  It provides daycare and preschool for young children, gang prevention for middle schoolers, summer camp for kids whose parents could not otherwise afford to send them, as well as parenting classes, counseling and job skills for adults.

“What we ask for in return, especially of our youth, is that people actively envision the kind of community they want to live in and be a part of,” Bryant said.  “One of our continuing goals is to empower our too-often marginalized participants to demand excellence of themselves, of us, and of one another.” 

All Peoples is truly an oasis in an area of need.  It fills the gaps where they exist, creating opportunities for people of its community.  All Peoples Christian Center is Making an Impact! 
And Los Angeles is better for it.
