NOTE: Center Associates receive a 10% discount. Course Description In nonprofit organizations, no single relationship is as important as that of the board and its chief executive officer. This session will provide the keys for a successful alliance to help maximize your organization's potential. The training will also delineate the often confused distinct responsibilities of the ED versus those of the board. The afternoon will be highly interactive and use real world experience to get you and your board on the right path.
Instructor's Bio Regina Birdsell has served as a marketing and communications advisor within the corporate, nonprofit and public sectors for over 15 years, helping organizations develop integrated, results-oriented strategic plans. She has provided comprehensive consultation in designing and implementing successful marketing, advertising and public awareness campaigns for dozens of organizations including UNICEF, the Radio & TV News Association, Children Now, the Violence Prevention Program, Women at Work, and Continental Cablevision. She is currently the Executive Director of the Center for Nonprofit Management.
Rod Hagenbuch is a current Board Member of the Center for Nonprofit Management and has over 40 years of experience in the Financial Industry. After coming to Los Angeles in 1993 he managed one of the most complex offices in the country growing it to one of Merrill Lynch's largest and most profitable operations. He has served on over thirty nonprofit boards in Michigan, Ohio, Washington and Los Angeles. He has lead and chaired twelve of them including Government, Arts, Health, Business and Education. In addition to the Center, Rod is currently a member of the boards of the LA Red Cross, United Cerebral Palsy, Pasadena Soccer, Fraternity of Friends, LA Town Hall, Univ. Wash. School of Urban Studies, and he is chairman of the California Employers Group. He is currently writing his third book on customer service and has lectured through out the country on his book "Becoming A Life Advisor" on practice management in the Securities Industry.
