Course Description
This session will cover the recent substantive changes to the Form 990.  Attendees will learn about Items nonprofits and their boards of directors should focus on such as compensation, governance issues, fundraising and transactions with related organizations. Are all of your policies and procedures in place?  Is your system set up to track the information that the IRS requires? There is still time to get your organization ready by the time you have to file, we will cover what can be done now to prepare for the updated report. Come to this workshop for a run down of the new changes and how to get your organization ready for them.

Instructor's Bio
Alan Strand has nine years of experience in nonprofit accounting, reporting, training and consulting, chiefly as Director of Finance and Quality Reporting with the California Association of Nonprofits (CAN).  Alan created and presented more than 40 highly-rated workshops and seminars across California and the U.S., training 1,300 people on nonprofit accounting standards, practices and procedures. Throughout Alan's nine years with CAN, he responded to over 6,500 Helpline calls on nonprofit financial management, general management, human resources, compliance, policies and procedures and governance issues.
