NOTE: Center Associates receive a 10% discount. Course Description Collaboration is a strategy for pooling common resources and strengths in order to achieve a common purpose. Through collaboration, organizations are better able serve clients, communities and constituencies, and meet the expectations of funders. This workshop will identify characteristics of successful collaborative relationships, steps in the collaborative process, and supporting and inhibiting factors that affect collaboration. We will look at: types of collaborative relationships; how to identify appropriate collaborative partners; steps in the development of collaborative relationships; and strategies for overcoming barriers.
Instructor's Bio Cheryl Cromwell has been in private practice as a management consultant for nonprofit organizations for 20 years. Previously she served as the Director of the State of Florida, Office of Community Services; Assistant Director of the United Way, Kellogg Training Center; and faculty member in Schools of Social Work at UCLA, Cal State LA, Florida State University, and the Nonprofit Management Program at the University of San Francisco. Cheryl has a Master's degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. She has assisted numerous public and private nonprofit organizations with the development of culturally responsive services.
