Instructor: Jaime Miranda Course Description This session is designed for researchers new to the field of prospect research or other who find themselves creating or managing a development research unit. The focus of this session is on the basic techniques of conducting prospect research on individual, corporations and foundation. This session will include a review of research resources, files and forms, tracking and reporting, policies and creating goals for your research units.
Take Aways 1. Attendees will learn how to prepare in-depth profiles using free/pay on-line tool, print materials, and other available resources. 2. Session will provide attendees with suggested templates, forms, and guidelines for research offices. 3. Attendees will receive a list of resources they can use to research individuals, corporations, and foundations. Instructor's Bio Jaime Miranda is the Director of Development Research at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He oversees delivery of research services directly related to fundraising programs and projects at the Keck School of Medicine. He joined USC as research analyst within University Advancement in 2002. Prior to prospect research, he was a major gifts fundraiser at a national educational reform nonprofit in Los Angeles, where he also managed the annual stewardship campaign. In addition, he has done market research and served as a development consultant for various organizations. Jaime is a former elementary school teacher. He received a degree in Spanish from Oklahoma State University. |
