Instructor: Adrienne Newsom Course Description This training is designed to help attendees understand how to effectively handle a termination, including pitfalls to avoid and practical tips to make the process easier for all involved. Participants will leave the training with an understanding of what employee discipline and termination tactics are lawful and which ones are likely to pave the way for a wrongful termination claim, along with information and tools to help them address difficult workplace situations. Take Aways: * Understanding of the importance and benefits of implementing a system for handling employee discipline leading up to and including termination. *Knowledge of what employee discipline and termination tactics are lawful. * Tools and information for effective handling of "problem" personnel and challenging workplace situations. Instructor's Bio Adrienne N. Newsom is an attorney with over a decade of experience helping nonprofit organizations with incorporation and tax-exempt status, board governance, risk management and employment issues. Adrienne drafts policies, procedures and handbooks, performs legal and risk management audits, and delivers training to help nonprofit and faith-based organizations minimize risk and operate above reproach. Adrienne graduated from UCLA School of Law in 1993 and Tufts University in 1990. |
