How to Be The Best Board Member is an invitation only event for current board members. | Instructor: Kim Klein Course Description You want to be a good board member, but sometimes you don’t know what that means. For example, what exactly is fiduciary responsibility? You know you should help with fundraising. But what does that mean? What are your choices? And what do you have the right to ask of the organization you are serving? In this evening workshop for board members only, Kim Klein will give you specific, hands-on and practical explanations of your job as a board member, and present you with some options for fundraising. Being a board member is one of the most important ways you can serve your community, but it should be fun and interesting as well as challenging. You are encouraged to bring several board members from your organization. Instructor's Bio Kim Klein is an internationally known fundraising trainer and consultant. She is the author of four books, including the classic Fundraising for Social Change, now in its fifth edition. She was the co-founder of the Grassroots Fundraising Journal, and has worked in fundraising for three decades. She has taught fundraising in all 50 states and 21 countries. Her new book, Reliable Fundraising in Unreliable Times, will be provided as part of the training. |
