Course Description
This class is appropriate for those who:

A) are new to word processing and are new to spreadsheets, or

B) may have used an earlier version of Word, WordPerfect, Excel or Lotus 1,2,3 but want to become familiarized with the new environment of Word 2007.

In Word, participants will learn how to:
• Start and quit Word
• Describe the Word window
• Enter text in a Document
• Check spelling as you type
• Save a document
• Format text and paragraphs
• Undo and redo commands or actions
• Insert clip art in a document
• Print a document
• Open a document
• Correct errors in a document using spell-check shortcuts
• Use Word’s Help to answer questions

In Excel participants will learn:
• Basic Data Entry
• Correcting Errors
• Resizing Columns
• Calculating Sums
• Using AutoFill to copy sums
• Text formatting including fonts, emphasis, size, text color, and cell merging
• Formatting Table styles
• Using Currency formats and rounding numbers
• Creating a Column Chart

Instructor's Bio
Ms. Dana Lee is a graduate of the University of Southern California and holds a Master's Degree in Education. Ms. Lee is an Instructional Designer and has developed curricula and training programs for Fortune 500 corporations, educational institutions and several non-profit organizations. She is also an instructor in both the community college and private sector with over 15 years of experience working with adult learners. She is well versed in adult learning theory and teaching strategies. Ms. Lee is fully bilingual and continues to write and teach workshops in financial literacy, job search and computer skills in both English and Spanish.
