Instructor: Sunni Smith Course Description Two recent studies, by Meyer and CompassPoint illustrated the growing trends among nonprofit executive directors. Of the 1,932 respondents from eight cities including, Los Angeles, 75% indicated that they planned to leave their jobs within the next five years, 9% were already in the process of leaving; and less than 30% had a succession plan. The study concluded that “It is important for CEOs to take personal responsibility for their personal health and attitude. This not only will help avoid burnout, but also help us to be better managers for [their] employees.” If any of this resonates with you, the following three-part, interactive, workshop for nonprofit executives may interest you. Instructor's Bio DeBorah “Sunni” Smith is a professional coach and consultant who specializes in facilitating the growth, development and success of chief executive officers and individuals in public life. The majority of her coaching clientele, work in political, entertainment and nonprofit and arenas. Sunni has a solid background in media, business and law. In the 90’s, after a consulting stint with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sunni took on the position of Deputy Director of Women and Minority Business in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Business and Economic Development where she made a major impact on the numbers of sub and prime contracts within the city of LA. She has been an Executive Director of the regional office of a national nonprofit and periodically worked with the Center for Nonprofit Management Los Angeles for over a decade. Sunni also has consulted with and trained executives and managers of fortune 500 companies such as IBM, Campbell Soup Company, The American Advertising Association, the National League of Cities and, most recently, Kaiser Permanente, within both the Medical Group and the Health Plan Foundation.
Sunni is a licensed Spiritual Counselor with the Agape International Spiritual Center, has a Master degree in counseling, a JD, and a Masters in Public Policy Law. She is an active member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the Professional Mentor and Coaching Association (PCMA). She is a certified coach with the Pyramid Resource Group’s Team Advantage, a team leadership training program and coaches attorneys and legal professionals with Threshold Advisors, LLC. |
