Course Description
Learn how to maximize your organization's investment returns while adhering to fiduciary standards and risk adverse strategies. This seminar will teach you how to make your organization's money work harder and generate more investment income to pursue your charitable activities. Topics include:
* Guidelines for your organization to consider when it receives donations of stock or other hard assets
* Finding the best returns for cash
* Your investment options for endowments and restricted funds
* Whether you should hire a professional or manage your investments yourself
* If you should establish social screens for your investment portfolio

Instructor's Bio
Bruce Rosen is Program Manager of the Los Angeles Arts Loan Fund at the Center for Nonprofit Management. Bruce has worked with the Center extensively over the past decade including directing the Venture Fund Initiative and the Southern California Social Enterprise Initiative.  Bruce also provides business development and management assistance consulting services to nonprofit organizations engaged in earned-income and small business activities.  He serves on the Board of Directors of several local nonprofit organizations including as Board President of the Westside Food Bank, Board President of Friends of the Vets' Garden at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center and as Treasurer of the Pacific Palisades CROP Hunger Walk.
