Course Description The "Final Regulations" on 403-B plans issued by the IRS in July 2007 have brought havoc and confusion in its wake, especially for smaller nonprofits who may have non-ERISA 403(b)s. In this seminar we will discuss: The impact of the final 403(b) regulations for 501(c)(3)employers; Determining if your Plan is subject to ERISA; Plan document considerations; Universal Eligibility Rules; New reporting requirements for 2009; and Review of comprehensive checklist for 2009 compliance. Instructor's Bio Susan D. Diehl is president of PenServ, a nationally recognized pension consulting firm dedicated to providing its clients, institutional and retail, with the ability to sponsor retirement plans. PenServ offers retirement plan services, including technical manuals, monthly news publications, hotline services, plan administration, plan documents, administrative forms, continuing professional education seminars, and in-house training and review of plan documents and administrative procedures. Susan is a co-author of the SIMPLE, SEP and SARSEP Answer Book, the Roth IRA Answer Book, the Health Savings Account Answer Book, and the AICPA's Understanding the Mechanics of Health Savings Accounts. Recently, Susan was appointed to a three-year term on the IRS' Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT), and serves on the Employee Plans subcommittee. Susan has been appointed ACT Chairperson for 2008-2009. Through the ACT Committee, Susan assisted in the formation of the new IRS 403(b) Liaison Group.
