What makes something newsworthy? Securing media about your work and organization increases your visibility and your credibility in the community-both key components in fundraising. In this seminar you will learn how to craft a message to pitch to media and how to create a strong press release for a newsworthy item related to your organization. Instructor's Bio Ron Milam has over eleven years of successful experience in the nonprofit sector and provides consulting services for community development and urban environmental organizations in the areas of fundraising, strategic planning, leadership development and campaign planning. Ron founded the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition and served as its first Executive Director. He later raised over $2 million for Enterprise Community Partners and the Future Leaders Institute Charter School in New York City. In the fall of 2008, he will attend UCLA’s Anderson School of Business Fully-Employed MBA Program. Pricing Policy Center Associates receive a 10% discount on all classes, seminars and events.
