Making an Impact
Friday, 20 March 2009 |
"Surviving the Economic Downturn: The Legal Issues Involved When Operating in Hard Times." is a free seminar co-sponsored by Public Counsel. Nonprofit experts will address various issues that are of pressing concern to the nonprofit sector in the current economic downturn. Topics covered include employment issues, renegotiating real estate obligations, and modifying contracts. This session will also examine the tax implications of these alternative fundraising techniques, given that many nonprofits are looking at alternative ways to raise funds, including joint ventures with for-profit businesses and offering services directly to the general public.
The seminar will be March 24, 2009 from 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM, and will be hosted at the offices of DLA Piper LLP in Los Angeles. Please click here for more details, including RSVP information. |
