Leadership Initiatives

Our Leadership Initiatives are special events throughout the year for senior executives from the thousands of nonprofit organizations throughout Southern CA's five counties. The sessions provide executives with the opportunity to reflect and think about deeper issues around their organization's mission.

Funded by the California Wellness Foundation.

Leadership Development for Senior Staff, Initiative 1
Throughout our community, talented Vice Presidents, COOs and senior staff are looking for advancement. Beginning in September, we will offer those promising executives an opportunity to grow the skills necessary to move into the top positions, working closely with their leader to strengthen the organizations they serve.

Coaching for Board Members, Initiative 2
Each of the selected boards will participate in two four-hour discussion and training sessions with a change management consultant to support their efforts to recruit and select top-level executive talent. Consultants will engage each board team to identify organizational opportunities, assets, and challenges. Based on this analysis, the boards will be better able to align new executive leadership with the organization’s vision and mission.

Executive Peer Learning Network
Funded by the Weingart Foundation and Washington Mutual.

A dynamic group of extraordinary nonprofit leaders from throughout Los Angeles will meet throughout the year to explore common leadership topic areas that will enhance the effectiveness of their organizations.

Funded by the Southern California Gas Company and Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina.

A free, full-day series of seminars covering volunteer management, on-line fundraising resources, grassroots fundraising and board development on July 29th, 2008.
